Accommodation for Visiting Family in Whangaparaoa
Coming to see family on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula is a lovely reason to travel — and a far better one when you’re not all crammed into one spare room. Beachfront Beauty gives you your own self-contained ground-floor space at Arkles Bay, close enough to spend real time with family and far enough that everyone gets a decent night’s sleep.
Stay nearby when there’s no spare room
Not every household has a room ready for visitors, and not every family wants the upheaval of clearing one out. Staying nearby takes that pressure off entirely. You turn up for the visits, the meals and the catch-ups, then step back to your own space at the end of the day — your own living area, your own bathroom, your own quiet.
It’s a small thing that changes the shape of a trip. Mornings start at your pace. Evenings wind down without negotiating shared spaces. And because you’re close, you can be there for the unplanned bits too — an extra cup of tea, a walk, a grandchild’s bedtime — without it becoming a logistical project.
Check the route first. Whangaparaoa is a long peninsula, so how far you are from family depends where on it they live. It’s worth checking the route to their actual address before you book, so you know the drive you’re signing up for.
Two or three nights is the sweet spot
A single night works in a pinch, but it tends to feel rushed — you arrive, you unpack, and it’s already time to think about packing again. Two or three nights lets the visit breathe. You settle in, you see people properly, and you’re not driving tired at either end.
The space sleeps one in the superking bedroom, with sofa beds in the living area for extra guests. Because the right setup depends on who’s coming, please talk to Vicki about the number and ages in your party before you book, so she can confirm it works.
Worth asking Vicki first
- • Does the sleeping setup suit our group?
- • Is the compact kitchenette enough for how we’ll eat?
- • Parking and access for anyone who needs it?
- • What time can we check in?
Your own space, five minutes from the beach
Beachfront Beauty is self-contained for guests, with hosts Vicki and Wayne living upstairs — on hand if you need anything, out of the way when you don’t. Cross the quiet road and you’re on the sand at Arkles Bay. There are kayaks you can ask to use, covered outdoor seating with a BBQ, linen and WiFi. It’s a relaxed, practical base for a family visit, not a formal holiday let.
If you’re travelling with children, please plan to supervise them around the road and the water. We won’t promise the beach is always calm or that swimming is universally safe — conditions change with the tide and the weather.
